Schools and roads closed as Fairlie hit by storms

Fairlie has been blasted by stormy weather as winter begins to bite, causing flooding on our roads - and forcing Fairlie Primary School to close.

As a result of the closure of the A78, North Ayrshire Council has decided to close Fairlie Primary School.

Following advice from Strathclyde Police, the school has contacted parents to advise them to collect their children. Staff will remain in the school until all children have been collected safely.

Fairlie Primary School is also scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, 30th November as a result of a day of industrial action.
