Ferry Row Pottery

by margaret Corps

Hello,

I live just outside London and have come across an ornament which is a house in white and green.

It is approx. 6 inches x 6 inches. On the bottom is a label that says

Ann Brooks

Ferry Row Pottery

Fairlie Ayrshire

Scotland

I Googled this and came up with nothing. Did there used to be a Ferry Row Pottery in your town?

If so or if anyone knows Ann Brooks and would like to know more please get in touch.

The item was probably bought by my mother in law some years ago. She has since passed away that is why we have the ornament now. My in laws had friends in Kilwinning Ayrshire. Not sure if that is near Fairlie or not. Hope to hear from someone.

Regards Margaret Corps

Hi Margaret,

I believe Anne is still in Fairlie and still making pottery items. Fairlie is just south of Largs on the coast and around 40 mins north of Kilwinning. If you want to conact her I will ask if she could maybe send a message through this site.

Best wishes, Lisa

I did exactly the same using the sticker on the bottom of a vase which I bought for my mother in the 70's.  Disappointing not to be able to find out more

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
