1950s/60s/70s Hunterston Public Enquiry

by Gordon

Does anyone still have a copy of the Public Enquiry publication that was issued to the public in the local area between 1950s and 70s with regard to the Industrial Developments at Hunterston.

I would be grateful if you can search under your beds, lofts, garages and see if you have a copy.

I would like add this publication as part of my Hunterson websites, as that public enquiry was part of the local intererest.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.

I remember Fencebay, you, your house and your father's Vauxaul Cresta, quite a car. Black Rock was good for swimming because of the greater water depth. I remember the bogie trips to the rock along the track when they built the boom piles.  Grea… 2 Comments

I was brought up at Fencebay, where the footpath to the Black Rock left the main road a mile South of the village. We moved there in 1946 when I was 6 and stayed until the house was demolished for the ore terminal project. Does anybody have memories…
